What if this is my first time?
We've all had our "first time" so please know that you belong here just as you are. I offer options and props for everything we do in class including pranyama (i.e. breathing exercises), poses, meditation, savasana, etc.
You have full agency to follow my guidance or choose something else, because not only is this your practice, but you are also the expert of your body. Listen to your body and do what makes you feel safe, supported, and comfortable while being mindful of those around you and not disturbing their experience. I'm here to help you along the way!
Each class includes a description so you know what to expect, including things like whether or not music or essential oils will be used, etc. However, if you don't see something and are wondering, then just ask.
If you're not sure whether or not you can take my class, please come talk to me! I'm committed to offering inclusive and accessible classes for every age, size, skin color, belief, gender identity, income, background, and type of love. Please reach out with any questions or concerns and I will happily answer!
How do I sign up?
Classes are scheduled on an as-needed basis, so if you'd like to schedule a class, fill out this form and I'll be in touch! If your class is already scheduled, then click here to pay.
What should I wear?
Wear clothes that are comfortable and loose enough for you to move freely. Bottoms like sweatpants, joggers, long shorts, etc. work great. For tops, I recommend one that stays put and isn't so loose that it falls down over your head.
Feel free to bring socks, a small blanket, a cardigan, a long-sleeved top, or something semi-warm for the final pose, Savasana, which is a resting and cooling pose.
What will yoga do for me?
Yoga is a multifaceted practice that includes meditation, mindfulness, movement, breathing, and spirituality. It is not connected to any religion but can deepen the one you have. Everyone's experience with yoga is unique, but some things you might benefit from are increased flexibility, muscle and bone strength, clearer thinking, increased ability to handle stress, lower blood pressure, and so much more. Ultimately, you can take whatever serves you in this practice, and leave the rest.
Can I leave during Savasana?
When possible, let me know beforehand so I can make space for you to leave while keeping the calm vibe in the room. It might also be a good idea to practice close to the door so that you can leave quietly.
